Reece returned from Malaysia with his best ever ITF singles result, a doubles title and new career high ranking.
In the Singles competition - Reece worked through to the semi-finals, where he met with 1st seed Dev Javia from India. The first set was hard fought, and Reece came away with a 7-6 victory; he then took out the second set 6-3, to set up a match with 4th seed Chak Lam Coleman Wong of Hong Kong in the final. Chak, at just 15 and sponsored by Nike, is said to be well on his way to becoming the best men’s player Hong Kong has ever produced. In the final, Reece dropped his first set 2-6, but was on the comeback, being up in the second 5-4; but as tennis can so often turn on a few critical points, the final result was 5-7.
In the Doubles competition - Reece partnered with Jose Antonio Tria. The pair won four games without dropping a set en route to the final, where they defeated No. 5 seeds Chun Lam of Hong Kong, and Woobin Shin, of Korea, 6-4, 6-4.
